When vision is compromised there will be problems with:
- Balance and movement
- How a child sees their environment
- The response to their environment
Any Delay in Visual Development:
- Poor Eye Contact
- Not crossing midline
- Visual tracking
- Poor focusing
- Strabismus/Amblyopia
- Nystagmus
Signs vision may be causing your little one difficulty – Overall Delays in Development:
- Gross motor
- Fine motor
- Cognitive skills
- Speech and language
- Adaptive Self-Help
Undiagnosed and untreated vision problems can interfere with learning, self-esteem and career choices. It is our mission to ensure that all the children in our community and the surrounding areas have the best possible vision for life.
Ideally all children should be examined at the age of:
- Six months
- Two and a half years
- Before commencing school
- Yearly thereafter
